25 years of programming changes how you look at AI.

I’ve been a programmer for 25 years. That experience means I look beyond a compelling demo to the questions that determine whether something will hold up: Where does the data come from? What happens when an answer is wrong? Who maintains this? Does it actually make someone’s work easier?

I’m deeply engaged in the possibilities of AI. I follow the technology closely and approach it as a working developer: explore, build, test, and keep learning.

I founded Useful Systems to help businesses turn promising technology into practical improvements. The focus is AI consulting, automation, and custom development for businesses in Nashville, Los Angeles, and beyond.

My role is to help define the problem, discuss the tradeoffs, and carry the technical work forward. Every engagement has clear responsibilities, direct communication, and an agreed handoff.

I take on carefully scoped engagements alongside my ongoing professional work. We’ll agree on availability and milestones at the start so expectations are clear.

I’m excited about what AI makes possible. I also believe the right solution might be a simple integration, a better process, or a tool you already have. My job is to help you make that decision, not fit every problem into the same technology.
